What is a Codex banked reset?
A banked reset is an opportunity to reset later. Receiving that opportunity and having your current allowance restored are different states. First identify whether an announcement describes a direct reset or a grant for future use.
Regular versus banked reset records
A regular record on this tracker describes an announced direct usage reset. A banked record describes the grant of a reset opportunity for later use. The heatmap uses different colors, and records retain their source announcement links.
A banked label does not mean you have consumed a reset in your own account or that your current window has been cleared automatically. Only your account can show your personal balance and redemption state.
What to check before using a reset
- Confirm that your account or workspace actually shows an available reset opportunity.
- Check plan eligibility, the expiry date and the conditions attached to that opportunity.
- Identify the window you want to restore and read the confirmation screen explaining the action.
- After completing the action, check the usage dashboard again. Do not infer account success from a public history record.
Do banked resets always have the same expiry?
Do not treat one promotion's conditions as permanent rules. Official documentation describes a time-limited June 2026 referral promotion and the expiry of its granted resets. That establishes the terms of that promotion, not a promise that it is available today or applies to every later grant.
Later grants can have different scope and rules. Read your account and the relevant terms for your actual balance, expiry and eligibility. This tracker does not promise free resets or create eligibility.
Reset opportunities, credits and usage windows
A reset opportunity is permission to perform a reset under certain conditions. Credits concern billable usage. A usage window is a time-based allowance restriction. A change to one does not establish a change to the others.
If you have reached a limit, identify the exhausted window first. Then check whether an applicable banked reset or another official option exists. That is more reliable than treating a colored history cell as evidence about your private account.
How to verify a banked record on this tracker
Select a banked date in the heatmap or locate the corresponding announcement in the history list. Open the source to read what was granted and to whom. Remember that UTC grouping and local display times can fall on different calendar days.
The service checks public data every five minutes. Records describe public announcements, not your private account status. The main timer is not an expiry countdown for banked resets.
